The Painstaking Production of A Scanner Darkly

Directed by Richard Linklater, who also adapted the script from the 1977 novel of the same name by Philip K. Dick, this project is among the more underrated films of all time. Set in a dystopian society where its residents are addicted to a drug known as Substance D, or Slow Death from time to time, A Scanner Darkly (2006) reveals a mysterious, eccentric plot regarding the origin of the drug.
